A formal ruling by the Information and Data Protection Commissioner has found that the education ministry’s permanent secretary, Matthew Vella, breached Malta’s Freedom of Information Act through actions that delayed and obstructed access to public records. The decision concerns consultancy contracts issued by the Sports Integrity Authority, commonly known as AIMS, a public body that operates under the remit of the education ministry.
