Meet Malta Media at SBC Summit 2026 in Lisbon

Michael Schmitt, Rosi Bremec and the Malta Media Team will attend SBC Summit 2026 in Lisbon from 29 September to 1 October, joining more than 40,000 professionals from across the international betting, gaming and technology sectors.

The summit will bring operators, suppliers, regulators, affiliates, investors and service providers together at Feira Internacional de Lisboa and the neighbouring MEO Arena. For Malta Media, it will be an opportunity to meet existing partners, strengthen established relationships and speak with companies we have not yet had the chance to work with.

Large industry events can become difficult to navigate when diaries fill quickly and conversations are left to chance. We therefore want to begin arranging meetings before the summit rather than waiting until everyone has arrived in Lisbon.

If you are attending SBC Summit 2026 and believe there is a genuine reason for us to speak, we would be pleased to hear from you.

Why Malta Media will be in Lisbon

SBC Summit has become one of the largest international gatherings in the gaming calendar, but Malta Media’s interest goes beyond the size of the exhibition.

The event brings together many of the people making commercial, regulatory and technological decisions across the sector. That concentration creates an opportunity to move beyond email introductions and have more direct conversations about what companies are building, which markets they are entering and where they see the industry heading.

Malta Media covers the international gaming sector from Malta, one of the industry’s most established European centres. Our work includes news, interviews, analysis, executive profiles, event coverage and longer-form editorial reporting on the subjects affecting operators, suppliers and industry professionals.

Lisbon gives us the chance to connect that editorial work with the people behind the businesses and decisions we report on.

Meeting existing partners and clients

A significant part of our time at SBC Summit will be dedicated to the companies and individuals who already work with Malta Media.

Industry relationships should not exist only through contracts, email exchanges or occasional online meetings. Speaking face to face provides room for a more open assessment of what is working, what could be improved and what both sides want to achieve next.

We want to use Lisbon to review current cooperation, understand upcoming priorities and discuss how Malta Media can provide stronger value across editorial visibility, interviews, executive positioning, event coverage and wider media partnerships.

The summit will also provide an opportunity to reconnect with long-standing industry contacts whom we may see regularly online but rarely have enough time to speak with properly during the year.

Conversations with new companies

Malta Media is equally interested in meeting operators, suppliers and industry specialists with whom we do not currently have a commercial relationship.

We are particularly interested in companies with a clear development, product, market-entry or leadership story. That may include an operator expanding into a newly regulated jurisdiction, a supplier launching technology with a practical application or an executive able to contribute informed views on a significant industry issue.

Not every meeting needs to begin with a sales presentation. Some of the most useful relationships develop from an honest exchange about what a company is doing, where the difficult questions are and whether there is a sensible reason to continue the discussion after the event.

If the fit is not there, it is better to establish that quickly. If it is, Lisbon provides the right environment to explore what cooperation could look like.

Editorial interviews and industry commentary

SBC Summit will generate a considerable amount of company news, executive commentary and product announcements. Malta Media will be looking for the stories that have relevance beyond the exhibition floor.

We are open to arranging interviews with founders, chief executives, regulators, product leaders and other senior professionals who can offer informed insight into the issues influencing the market.

That includes regulation, compliance, player protection, payments, artificial intelligence, market expansion, affiliation, product development and the commercial pressure facing licensed operators and suppliers.

An interview should provide more than a series of promotional statements. The strongest conversations explain what is changing, why it matters and what the speaker has learned from dealing with the issue directly.

Companies interested in arranging an interview should contact Malta Media before the event with a clear description of the proposed speaker and subject.

Commercial partnerships and industry visibility

SBC Summit will also provide an opportunity to discuss Malta Media’s commercial partnership options with companies looking for sustained industry visibility.

A useful media partnership needs to be based on more than placing a logo on a website. It should connect a company with relevant readers through a considered combination of brand presence, executive positioning, interviews, announcements and content that gives the audience a reason to pay attention.

We are interested in speaking with businesses that understand the value of consistent communication and want to build recognition over time rather than rely on a single publication.

At the same time, Malta Media’s editorial independence remains separate from any commercial arrangement. Advertising can provide visibility, but it does not purchase favourable editorial treatment or remove the need for accuracy and proper scrutiny.

The right meetings require some preparation

With more than 40,000 attendees expected in Lisbon, schedules will become crowded quickly. Leaving every meeting until the event begins risks turning potentially useful conversations into rushed exchanges between conference sessions.

SBC Connect will allow eligible attendees to identify participants, exchange messages and arrange appointments before travelling. Malta Media will also coordinate meetings directly with existing contacts and companies that approach us in advance.

When requesting a meeting, it is helpful to explain who will attend, what the company does and what you would like to discuss. A short and specific introduction makes it easier to allocate the right amount of time and ensure that the relevant person is present.

We are happy to consider editorial discussions, commercial partnership meetings, interviews and more general conversations about developments within the international gaming industry.

A full week of industry conversations

SBC Summit 2026 will combine a large international exhibition with more than 600 speakers, structured networking, practical education and major evening events.

The Leadership in Sports Business keynote will bring Michael Jordan together with Sportradar founder and CEO Carsten Koerl and DraftKings co-founder and CEO Jason Robins. The wider conference programme will cover regulation, payments, emerging markets, technology, artificial intelligence, player protection and product innovation.

Evening events will include the SBC Summit Opening Party at Pavilhão Carlos Lopes on Tuesday, 29 September and INFINITY Lisbon at the MEO Arena on Thursday, 1 October, headlined by Tiësto and featuring BlasterJaxx.

These different parts of the programme create several settings in which to meet, from scheduled daytime appointments to less formal conversations after the exhibition closes.

Arrange a meeting with Malta Media

Michael Schmitt will represent Malta Media in Lisbon throughout SBC Summit 2026 and welcomes meeting requests from existing clients, partners, readers, operators, suppliers and other industry professionals.

We are not interested in filling the diary simply for the sake of having a full schedule. We want useful conversations with people and businesses where there is a genuine subject to discuss or a realistic opportunity to work together.

If that applies to you, please contact us before the summit with a short introduction and your preferred meeting times. We will then confirm availability and arrange a suitable location.

SBC Summit 2026 will take place at Feira Internacional de Lisboa and the MEO Arena from 29 September to 1 October 2026.
