Job description: We are looking for a Purchasing Representative to join our client's team. As an automotive purchasing manager, you play a critical role in sourcing goods and services necessary to operate automobiles and components for the company's various divisions. Your expertise in procurement processes, supplier management and industry regulations will be instrumental in increasing efficiency and achieving the organization's strategic goals.
ABOUT OUR CUSTOMER
Our customer is Malta's largest importer and supplier to the automotive industry and is based in Marsa.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work with the operations and quality assurance teams to understand their sourcing requirements for automotive components, materials and services.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and vendors of automotive parts, raw materials and equipment and evaluate their capabilities, quality standards and prices.
- Manage supplier relationships, including performance evaluations, regular meetings, and resolving any issues or disputes to maintain a reliable and efficient supply chain.
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize costs, reduce lead times and mitigate supply chain risks for critical automotive components and materials.
- Prepare and analyze procurement reports, including cost savings initiatives, supplier performance metrics and purchasing trends, to support decision making and strategic planning.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Demonstrated experience in procurement, supply chain management or purchasing functions with strong knowledge of the automotive industry.
- Strong organizational, communication and multitasking skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a professional demeanor.
- Good knowledge of the Maltese language.
EDUCATION
A recognized degree in business administration, supply chain management or a related field; An advanced degree or certification is an advantage.
WORKING HOURS
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
